Description:

On The Loose is a multi-device proof-of-concept leveraging Open Source toolkits/frameworks and developed using MVC patterns. These web/mobile friendly toolkits were used to develop a prototype following an MVC pattern that could be used for animal sightings (a spin off from sighting persons of interest on other efforts) on the desktop and on mobile devices. When the application opens up 500 random animal sightings are generated to push the limits of various devices. This application, while not tested in every scenario, shows what is possible in a very lightweight web stack and was a logical diversion point where some capabilities could be demonstrated and shared before there are additional dependencies.

Food Trucks. Where were they? giTract is an iPad application that allows you to see where food trucks in the DC area have been over the past year on any given day, and what people are saying about them. The story was prepared for GeoINT 2012, and really isn't about tracking the whereabouts of food trucks. You can use your imagination. Profiles about food trucks have been created by scouring Yelp reviews and other social media streams. SAP's NS2 group turned what people have been saying into an evaluation of each vehicle. Look for bad trucks around important locations. Look for anamolies in where trucks setup. Get warnings when a truck is sighted near an embassy (Ambasadors are hungry people!).

We heard you. You're looking for another dashboard app that's not "all sciency and stuff". This is it!
gData is based on our popular Health Indicators app, but it displays different types of data to further the story that was started in 2011. Although it is not available in Apple's App Store, it is an easy-to-use dashboard app that transforms complex Telecom data into geographically relevant information. The premise is that some entity is monitoring telecom and internet traffic that originates in the United States and terminates in a country of interest. Using this app, data can be viewed geographically to look for hotpspots of activity across the nation as defined by a few key metrics.
Obviously, this is not real data, nor is it a complete picture of what the data COULD BE.
In addition, to high-level metrics, sub-components of each metric can also be investigated. Executives can also use the app to visually identify data reporting issues, find gaps in geographical coverage, and gauge the overall usefulness of the information for monitoring irregularities in telecom and internet traffic patterns.

Agentry Simulator GeoFence

This has the same use cases as the Agentry Simulator app but also contains a new use case which uses GeoEvent processing (with geofences) to automatically create new Notifications in the SAP Work Manager Simulator. By leveraging the IoT and geoevent processing, this results in more efficient service chain (through reduced windshield time) and increased customer satisfaction.

If you are interested in the other use cases (aside from the Water geoevent use case), please download the standard Agentry Simulator instead.

The geoevent use case shows how a water utility can leverage the IoT to automatically create notifications. Sensors (like smart meters, pump house equipment, environmental monitoring) that raise alerts above a certain threshold will result in a geofence being created for that sensor. A simulated traffic pattern of utility trucks is fed into ArcGIS Server on a continuous basis. When a utility truck passes through those geofences, the Esri GeoEvent Extension detects that event which results in a notification being raised for that truck’s crew. The will see that notification appear inside of SAP Work Manager running on their iPad. An additional element of this use case is to show lower priority work near the sensor that raised the alert. This enables members of the crew to address that lower priority work resulting in reduced windshield time and increased customer satisfaction.

This simulator doesn’t require SMP or SAP EAM Landscape.

Description:

National Grid's GeoAlert is an iOS application which sounds an audible alert and visual notification when entering a virtual fence (i.e. a geo-fence). Currently, the geo-fences are defined by an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service (REST service) which is provided by National Grid. The service which defines the geo-fences is maintained and updated periodically by National Grid. The application receives updates to the geo-fences via the REST service anytime the application is launched with internet connectivity. Without internet connectivity, GeoAlert can operate in offline mode by leveraging a local copy of the geo-fence that has been previously cached to the device.

Capabilities:

Users receive an audio alert and visual notification (including "issue" type) regarding hazard areas while within a pre-defined geo-fence (buffer) surrounding a Caution Point
Receive multiple visual notifications while within 1:N hazard areas (i.e. overlapping hazard areas)
Ability to receive an update of geo-fence buffers from an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service upon app launch with internet connectivity
Ability to operate while offline so long as the geo-fence buffers have been cached to the device. The buffers are automatically cached to the device any time the application is launched with internet connectivity

OdorAlert is a simple web browser app that provides map-based access to odor related complaints. It enables the citizens of New York City to quickly search for and view existing complaints, including the ability to comment on and prioritize incidents, as well as submit new complaints all from the device of their choice - desktop, tablet, or handheld. The intuitive interface allows users to easily assess the status of existing complaints, view other users' comments, and attach pictures, videos, and other related documents to new complaints.

OdorAlert was created by customizing the Citizen Service Request HTML5/JavaScript sample template from Esri's ArcGIS Resource Center and plugging in some free data from NYC OpenData into the ArcGIS Local Government Information Model.

Comment on and prioritize complaints
Attach pictures, videos, and other related documents to new requests
Geoprocessing service that determines the name of the nearest building for new complaints and recalculates and updates other data that is consumed in the dashboard application.
